I decided to get a BEFORE picture so I could later compare it to an AFTER picture, from left to right we have intern Reggie, intern Tommy (all six foot 8 of him), intern Corey (supposedly interns have to have names that rhyme for lunatic business owners like me) and then Hazel. But she's the Restaurant Bar Manager, not an intern.
Today we had baby Happy's one year birthday party. It was at 2pm, and today had to be the hottest day of the year. One cannot rate birthday parties for one year olds in the same way one does for adults. After the piƱata and the candy and the confetti, the kids were super stoked. This made all of the adults stoked. There were a few sodas and beer, super mellow, some cake and ice cream. Then everyone takes off and we chill out a bit and clean up and then the Super Bowl. Not a bad Sunday. Too bad the Chargers didn't win.
Theres a lot going on, I plan on decyphering it all tomorrow and then letting everyone else know. One big thing are the surf tours, there are four in the next seven months going to Nicaragua, CR/Panama, Peru and Indo, with people signed up on all four already. Let me know if you're interested as I'm about to post it on the next newsletter for the camp. If you're in town come by so we can surf as I'm going every day, besides that you can find me by calling the surf camp hot-line (or they can find me if I'm not there). The only thing you have to remember right now is that we're having the San Diego blues band Road Dogs (www.roaddogs.us) play on Tuesday night at WRSC, music starts at 6:30PM and there will be plenty of drink specials going on.
That movie Babel is really depressing. Does it get better towards the end?

Hey Joe, it's Wendy. 1st off, those Canadians are beyond adorable. 2nd, just went to the webcam and it was really disappointed to see it's down. I'm back in NY and was hoping to see the swell and daydream for a bit. As someone who practices yoga near the rivermouth everyday while in Tama, I fully support blocking the ass-checking turkeys from using the cam. But how can I get access???
Hi Joe..., I have a home in Tamarindo (Pueblo Del Mar) and I use the web Cam when I am not there. Kind of makes me feel like I am there rather the cold NE USA. Using the Web Cam gave me the opportunity to see if I had any friends surfing.
Joe
My Wife and I have been coming to Tamarindo for nine years now and love the place...We eat and drink at your place all the time..Not to mention breakfast at the Frutis Tropicalis across the street..I live and surf in New Hampshire year round so by March we need to come down there for some warm weather and waves.. But through the year I love looking at the Web Cam to see the surf and watch the sun shining.. We have always stayed at the Vista Villas but should check out your place considering the additions you've added.. Maybe im wrong but I just figured it was for the younger people...I emailed you once or twice about the pervs on the cam and I totaly agree... It seeed like I was racing some perv to check out the Rivermouth... Anyway thanks Joe, Your a luckey man living the dream of so many of us
Mike
Kent, can you ftp me that video so I can watch? Or upload it to youtube and I'll post it on the blog so everyone can check it out. Dude I've been meaning to call you these last few days to catch up, I think I'm going to be in SD in a couple of weeks. If so, can you take a few surf days?
hola Shannon, nice to hear from you again. I'm working on a series of tours that I'm posting this week, what month are you looking to take a trip? I'm seeing March, May, and June being the next three tours you could get on. Email me your email address :-)
Wendy, Zirk, Mike + everyone else on the WEB CAM issue:
I will be giving out unique usernames/passwords that you can use. I will be putting a Paypal Donate button and/or sending you a Paypal Donate email on a monthly basis. It isn't stated what you are to donate, its really up to you. I will monitor these funds and use them towards community projects such as the Pro Mejores, the Lifeguard Program, and building a sidewalk from the edge of Cabinas Maleko along the Tamarindo Heights property to the Auto Mercado. No matter what I hope to raise awareness to the fact that this cam has always been free and will remain so, but that we as a community are honored to receive your support. Tamarindo pura vida
Wendy, nice to see you after Mal Pais. Next time I won't flake on arranging a surf tour for you, Helena and Becky. Things got hectic these last couple of months.
Mike, regarding the next time you come to town- I would definitely suggest that you take a chance and stay with us, I think you will start to ask yourselves why it took you so long! Our Upper Sunset rooms are pretty epic I must say... :-)
