My name is Joe Walsh.  I am 33 years old.  I grew up in San Diego, California.  I live in Tamarindo, Costa Rica with my wife Holly and my two little boys Otis, 5, and Happy, 3.

I am a full-time surfer focused in Central America.  As a professional guide I provide a handful of surf tours each year to various destinations in Costa Rica, Panama and Peru.  In Tamarindo I help oversee the operations of Witch’s Rock Surf Camp.

Besides surfing, I spend my time

• sailing to remote surf breaks on deserted islands strewn along the Caribbean coast of Panama
• building surfboards
• alternative farming and construction
• rebuilding shitty old trucks and boats and making nicer, fully-functioning ones
• writing

I am currently writing a book about passion, vision, the importance of family, ethical business philosophy, environmentalism, the point-of-no-return adventure, true happiness, and a recreational use of marijuana.  Until I finish you’ve got this blog.  Enjoy.
